Description:

Thomas Hart Benton (MO, 1889-1975), Prodigal Son, Lithograph, pencil signed lower right, a limited edition signed original lithograph, depicting a man approaching an abandoned house, matted and framed, with Associated American Artists paperwork on verso. Frame size: 21 in. x 24 in.

Thomas Hart Benton was a painter of the Midwestern United States and leader of the Regionalist art movement. Benton is best known for his depictions of everyday life and his distinctive, fluid figures. He exhibited widely, painted murals for universities and museums, and his work was featured on one of the earliest covers of Time magazine. His home in Kansas City is now a museum dedicated to his life and work and his paintings and murals can be found in universities and museums across the country, including the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian.

Measurements: Height: by sight 10 1/2 in. x Width: 13 1/2 in.

Condition:

Good condition, paper slightly wavy, light foxing, not viewed out of frame.
