Description:

Sam Newton (FL, b. 1948), Palm and Dock, Oil on Masonite, signed lower right, depicting a palm tree with ocean and dock in the background, in a wood frame. Frame size: 27 1/2 in. x 15 1/2 in.

Sam Newton (b.1948) is one of the nine original members of the Highwaymen. In the early 1960s, Sam Newton started his painting career near Vero Beach, Florida, painting alongside his brother, Harold Newton. In 2004, Sam Newton was one of twenty-six artists identified as Highwaymen that were inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. (Askart.com)
