Queen Anne Cherrywood Highboy, Connecticut, c. 1770, the arched swan's neck pediment with urn-form finials, above an arrangement of 5 drawers the central drawer with pinwheel decoration, over four long graduated drawers, the lower section with an arrangement of four drawers, the central drawer with carved fan, raised on cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Secondary wood is pine. Provenance: purchased from Lester M. Slatoff Auctions, May 1st, 1954, from the estate of Mrs. Frances Folsom Cleveland Preston Estate, formerly from "Westland" the residence of the late President and Mrs. Grover Cleveland located at 58 Bayard Lane, Princeton, NJ.
Measurements: Height: 6 ft. 10 in. x Width: 41 1/2 in. x Depth: 22 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, brasses replaced, some patches to drawer lips, some, chip to corner of one long drawer on upper section, some chips to drawer dividers, old marks, scratches and dings, missing one knee return on left leg, missing base of right drop on apron.
