Pino Daeni (NY/SC/UK, 1939-2010), Sara, Oil on Canvas, signed lower left, depicting a portrait of a dark haired woman, with 'Morris & Whiteside Galleries Hilton Head' label on verso, in a linen mat with giltwood frame. Frame size: 24 in. x 20 in.Italian artist Pino Daeni was a greatly successful painter and illustrator. He is best known for his book illustrations, having designed over 3,000 book covers over the course of his career, making him one of the highest paid book illustrators of his time. Pino designed covers for the large Italian publishers Mondadori and Rizzoli, as well as US publishing houses Simon & Schuster, Penguin, Bantam and Harlequin, among many others.
