Press in Charleston, S.C. May, 1992' and Brunk Auction tag 'May 9-10, 2009, lot 300, sold $950' on verso, matted and framed. Frame size: 19 in. x 14 1/4 in.

Elizabeth O’Neill Verner was an American representational painter, printmaker, author and preservationist. Verner was educated and the Pennsylvania Academy of Art and had a successful career as a professional painter, becoming a prominent figure in the Charleston Renaissance. Verner was considered one of the most important painters of Southern life of her time. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others.
