Mose Tolliver was an Alabama based folk artist known for his vibrant images. Tolliver worked at a factory in Montgomery, Alabama before an accident forced him to retire. Tolliver took up painting to combat boredom while recovering, working with house paint on plywood and other found materials. He gained recognition after a solo exhibition at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and a folk art exhbition at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C. His work can be found in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Art, the High Museum of Art, the Birmingham Museum of Art and many others.

Measurements: Height: 24 1/8 in. x Width: 9 7/8 in.

Condition:

Good condition, light wear to edges, incised oval shapes middle right side, some dark residue upper middle.
