Karas (MA/ME/SC, b. 1954), Castine Village, 1995, Oil on Mounted Canvas, signed lower right and signed, titled, and dated '1995' on verso, depicting a landscape with buildings obscured by lush trees and figures and flag poll, with 'Kensington Galleries, Harbourtown, SC' label on verso, with linen mat in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 19 3/4 in. x 21 3/4 in.Michael B. Karas is a nationally recognized marine and landscape painter, and has been painting professionally for over 46 years. He found his inspiration in the sea, shore and landscape of his native New England home. In 1989, he had his first introduction to the South Carolina Low Country and after several years of visits, settled there permanently in 2004.
