Description:

Leonardo Nierman (NY/Mexico, b. 1932), Bird in the Wind, Oil on Masonite, signed lower right, titled on verso, in a white silk and giltwood frame. Frame size: 30 1/2 in. x 38 1/2 in.

Leonardo Nierman, a leader in modern Mexican art, was born in Mexico City in 1932. Nierman is known for his highly colorful abstract expressionist landscape painting, sculpture, and murals that are full of motion. He earned a Bachelor Degree from the University of Mexico in Mexico City in 1951. In 1972, he had a major exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City and from that time has had exhibitions of his work throughout the world including the United States, Italy, Israel, Australia, Spain and Japan.

Measurements: Height: by sight 24 in. x Width: 32 1/8 in.

Condition:

Good condition. Some wear to frame, silk with surface dirt and minor bubbling and marks.
