Description:
Japanese Satsuma Elephant, 19th Century, Meiji Period, the elephant surmounted by a candleholder and draped with a tapestry decorated with figures at various pursuits.Measurements: Height: 12 3/4 in. x Width: 12 1/2 in. x Depth: 5 1/2 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, multiple repairs and restoration to blue projecting leaves on corners of candleholder and one central blue leaf , some wear to gilding, chips to edges of candle holder, some firing cracks, some overpainting to interior belly.
