Description:

Hiroshi Yoshida (Japanese, 1876-1950), Azalea Garden, Woodblock Print, pencil signed and titled bottom edge, stamped and marked with Japanese characters on left margin and lower right, matted and in a wood and giltwood frame. Frame size: 21 1/2 in. x 17 in.

Hiroshi Yoshida was a 20th century Japanese woodblock printmaker and painter. He studied in Kyoto and Tokyo. Yoshida was widely travelled, which reflected in his landscapes that featured a variety of subjects in Japanese style. He was regarded as one of the masters of the shin-hanga style. Yoshida exhibited all over the world and his work can be found in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and many others.

Measurements: Height: by sight, 15 1/8 in. x Width: 10 1/2 in.

Condition:

Good condition, yellowing to paper, some mat burn, crease in top left corner, not viewed out of frame.
