Charles Schulz Peanuts Daily Comic Strip, Original Art Dated 9-17-54 (United Feature Syndicate, 10-13-54), signed and dated 10-13 in far right cell, with copyright label in first cell, stamped 'Received, United Features Syn, 220 E. 42nd St., NYC, Sep. 17 1954, 3:54 PM' on verso, a four cell daily with Charlie, Franklin and Snoopy.
Provenance: Given by the artist to Frede Vidar, a WWII illustrator and presumed friend of Schulz, by decent to Vidar's daughter. A collection of Frede Vidar's works are offered in session II of this auction.
Measurements: Height: of sheet 6 1/2 in. x Width: 28 3/4 in.
Condition:
Good condition, minor toning to paper, minor wear to edges, central vertical crease from folding, foxing mark and small stain in border below third cell, stain above figures in third cell, 1/2 in. blue mark in second cell above grass, pencil notations in border upper right edge and lower left, faint ghosting of text box in last cell on first cell, minor stains on verso.
