Detlev Nitschke is a German artist known for his picturesque scenes developed from plein-air-painting into designs for calendars and maps. His work is heavily influenced by both the American Impressionists and his travels throughout Europe and Russia. Born in 1935 in Berlin, Germany, Nitschke studied lithography at Meisterschule Fur Druck & Graphik, and later worked as a director for a graphics company. He is a member of the Society of Berlin Painters of Architecture and has exhibited in New York, Boston, and Cape Cod. (Artnet)

Measurements: Height: by sight 9 1/4 in. x Width: 11 5/8 in.

Condition:

Good condition, some wear to gilt and minor loss to front of frame, frame with old bug damage.
