De Giafferri, L'Histoire du Costume Feminin Mondial, circa 1925, "L'Histoire du costume feminin Mondial" by Paul Louis de Giafferri (France, b. 1886), with illustrated title page, published by Editions Nilsson, Paris, Foreign Publications, Inc. New York, 2 vols., folios, Volume I containing China, Japan, Egypt Ancient and Modern, Assyria, Persia, India, Greece Ancient and Modern, Turkey and Byzantium, Volume 2 containing Rome, Gaul, Europe, France, Scandinavia, Britain, Spain and Italy, Germany and Russia, the Americas, Africa and South America, each people group with an illustrated title, several pages of text and 10 color illustrated plates detailing different aspects of clothing, the illustrations signed in the plates, 200 plates in total, some pages uncut at top edges, with laid down illustrated covers.

Measurements: Height: 15 1/4 in. x Width: 11 1/8 in. x Depth: 1 5/8 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, wear to deckled edges of leaves, occasional foxing, some ghosting from illustrations, wear to covers, tears and losses to the upper right corner of pages 85 and 87 in Volume 2, with damage to the following 3 plates affecting some text and illustration, Volume 2 with multiple tears and cuts throughout, though most leaves appear to be included.
