Description:
Beltran Bofill (Spanish, 1939-2009), Women by Sea Shore, Oil on Canvas, signed lower left, depicting two women and a dog on a rocky sea shore, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 38 in. x 48 in.Beltran Bofill was born near Barcelona, Spain in 1934 and lived in Catalonia all his life. He studied at the Escuela Superior de Artes de San Jordi and then at the Escuela de Artes y Oficio Casa Lonja. Bofill has devoted himself entirely to painting since he set out to pursue a career in art in 1972. His paintings document his exploration of the effect of light in the Mediterranean culture and landscape. Bofill has had one-man exhibitions in several Spanish cities including Madrid, Valencia and Palma de Mallorca, and his work can be found in numerous public and private collections around the globe.
