Collection of Arthur B. Kouwenhoven, Jr. Jonathan Weinberg (New Jersey, b. 1957), Untitled (The Pier Series), Oil on Paper, 1984, signed and dated "84" lower right, depicting spiral staircase, with Harm Bouckaert Gallery label, floating in frame. Frame size 33 in. height x 25 in. width. Together with bill of sale from Harm Bouckaert Gallery dated April 6th, 1985 and material from the "Under 8" show. Weinberg's work is in the permenant collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition to being an artist, Jonathan Weinberg is an art historian. He is the author of Speaking for Vice: Homosexuality in the Art of Charles Demuth, Marsden Hartley and the First American Avant-Garde (Yale University Press 1993), and Ambition and Love in Modern American Art (Yale University Press 2001). He also writes for Art in America. From 2002 to 2003, Weinberg was the artist in residence of the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, California.
