Property of a Former U.S. Air Force Military Attache to the American Embassy, Cairo, Egypt
Two Turkish Sabres or Kilijs, Probably 19th Century, one with gilt metal and leather scabbard (wear and losses to scabbard including some missing leather, horn handle dry and with small chips, end of scabbard casing bent, some dings, red paint to animal head on guard, some pitting and chips to blade and some red paint on blade), the other inscribed at the base 'Pro Deo et Patria' (missing half of handle, other side with chips and dry, scabbard with losses to leather and missing metal cover at base, some whitening to metal, some pitting and rust to blade).
