Description:

Three Japanese Woodblock Prints Including Utagawa Kunisada II & I, comprising Utagawa Kunisada II, print of a seated actor in blue and white robe, with pencil inscription 'printing effect: Kirazuri (mica)' and typed label 'Kunisada II… The Kabuki Actor, Khikawa Kodanji as Otokodate Goroxo play the Shakuhchi, published by Aito in 1864' on mat, sheet size: 14 1/2 in. x 9 7/8 in. (trimmed on some sides, faded, toning, wear to edges, small creases and tears to edges, repairs along edges, other small repairs, mounted along top edge); Utagawa Kunisada, print of a seated figure in patterned robes, with typed label on mat 'Kunisada I (1786-1864)', sheet size: 13 7/8 in. x 10 in. (trimmed, toned, faded, wear to edges, repaired tear along left edge); and a print of an actor in blue patterned robe, with pencil inscription on mat 'circa 1820-1835 (signature), Gogotei Kunisada ga' and typed label 'Kunisada (1786-1864), the kabuki actor Bando Mitsugaro as Ukiyo Matahei, published by Sanoki c. 1820s-1830s' under sheet, sheet size: 14 3/4 in. x 10 3/8 in. (trimmed, wear to edges with small repairs, creasing, toning, foxing, faded, faint stains, mounted along top edge), all matted and unframed.
