Description:

1864 US Army Contract for 20,000 E. Remington & Sons Revolvers, typed and handwritten document, four pages folded, dated October 24, 1864, including pages detailing the contract between E. Remington & Sons and the United States to provide 20,000 revolvers and appendages at the rate of $15.50 a piece, the total amount of the contract being $310,000.00, the first portion of the contract signed by 'E. Remington & Sons' and 'A.B. Dyer', Brig. General, Chief of Ordinance, the second portion signed 'E. Remington & Sons', 'George Tuckerman', and 'H.H. Fish', the third page with separate contracts signed by George Tuckerman and H. H. Fish, the center of document with Herkimer County Clerk's Office pamphlet and wax stamp, the last page with US oath of loyalty and citizenship signed by Eliphalet Remington.

Measurements: Height: of page unfolded 15 3/4 in. x Width: 21 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, horizontal and vertical creases from folding, wear at creases, toning, minor foxing, wear to edges, some fading to ink in some areas, some ink smudges, later faint red pen notation on upper edge of 'Army Ordinance Department' page.
