Yang Yang (Chinese/American, b. 1953), Two Figures, Oil on Canvas, signed and initial signed lower right, depicting two abstract standing figures, in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 19 1/2 in. x 23 1/2 in.

Yang Yang was born in Nanchang, China in 1953. In 1984, he left his home in Nanchang and came to the U.S. to expand his studies in the arts. His works are characterized by mythical settings where animals and humans share an existence of ambiguity - capturing an unconstrained perception of humanity through a combination of monochromatic colors, textures, and figures that transcend racial and ethnic assignment.
