Description:

West Fraser (American, b. 1955), San Francisco, Watercolor, signed and dated '87 lower right, depicting sail boats and cargo ship, underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, matted in a silvered wood frame. Frame size: 29 7/8 in. x 47 7/8 in.

A native of the Lowcountry, West Fraser grew up in Savannah and Hilton Head before eventually settling in Charleston. He studied at the University of Georgia and worked as an illustrator before turning to painting. He is known for his representational, plein air paintings. Fraser is a member of the Salmagundi Club, a fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists and a member of the California Art Club. His work is in the permanent collections of the Gibbes Museum of Art, Morris Museum, Telfair Museum and White House Historical Association, among others.

Good condition, not viewed out of frame, minor wear to edges of frame.
