Description:
Walter Greer (SC, 1920 - 2016), Marsh Landscape with Egrets, Oil, signed lower right and dated '84, depicting three herons in a marsh scene. Frame size: 61 1/4 in. x 49 3/4 in.Walter Greer was a South Carolina artist. He is known for his marsh landscapes and botanical paintings. Greer studied at the Citadel, the Atlanta School of Art and the National Academy of Design. In 1996, the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island named its art exhibition hall the Walter Greer Gallery in his honor. His work has been exhibited widely throughout the American southeast.
