Italian artist Walter Furlan is known for his colorful glass sculptors often reimagining of the work of Pablo Picasso. Furlan began working in glass at an early age and apprenticed under Mamaracio and other master’s after the Second World War. While an apprentice, he learned the ‘massello’ technique which became his favored sculpting method. Furlan was heavily inspired by Picasso and received permission from the artist himself to reinterpret the work of his Cubic Period. In his lifetime Furlan exhibited his work across Italy and his sculptures can be found in various Italian museums as well as in private collections around the world.
