Description:

Utagawa Kunisada, Japanese Woodblock Diptych of Kabuki Actors, both signed and stamped, the left with two robed women seated on a bench, pencil notation under mat reading "Circa 1849-1853 (censors) Muramatsu & Fuku" and label under print reading "Toyokuni III (1786-1864) Kabuki actors in the roles of Princess Terute with a fan and Maid Azuma. Published by Yamadaya in 1849-1852," the right with armed male figure standing under a tree, pencil notation under mat reading "Kabuki actor in the role of Samurai Hito Kotaro circa 1849-1853 (via censor seals) Muramatsu & Fuku," matted, unframed. Mat size of both: 18 1/8 in. x 14 1/8 in.

Measurements: Height: by sight of both 14 3/8 in. x Width: 10 1/2 in.

Condition:

Overall fair condition, trimmed, colors faded, wear to edges, left with repairs along right edge, toned and some minor foxing, small repaired tears along edges, mats toned and foxed.
