Description:
Unsigned Watercolor of Strawberries, 19th C, botanical watercolor of a strawberry plant, with Hammer Galleries label on verso reading "JA-2377 Sketch of Strawberries, From the J.M.W. Turner collection of the Late John Anderson, Jr. Author of The Unknown Turner, Founder of The Anderson Galleries". We reached out to Hammer Galleries who indicated that similar letters appear every few years but that there is no connection to Turner. The work matted and framed. Frame size: 17 5/8 in. x 14 5/8 in. Sheet size: 12 5/8 in. x 8 1/2 in.Measurements: Height: by sight, 10 3/4 in. x Width: 7 1/2 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, toning and some spotting to paper, mat burn, mat toned and with some foxing, not viewed out of frame.Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the conditions of aging.
