Two Work Boxes, 19th Century, comprising an American mother-of-pearl and metal inlaid rosewood writing cabinet, 19th century, the rectangular top with hinged front panel opening to a pair of doors stepped shelves above a sliding drawer opening to a hinged letter box with velvet lined writing surface (19th century letters from Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Hodgman Tuckahoe, NY enclosed); and a continental nail head mounted stained oak work box, probably 19th century (5 1/2 in. x 11 1/4 in. x 4 3/4 in.)Measurements: Height: of largest box 6 3/4 in. x Width: 14 1/4 in. x Depth: 10 in.
Condition:
Unrestored condition, sun fading to hinged panel, doors lacking inset panels, painted remnants to upper part of right door, velvet lined panels to writing box torn, old marks and scratches, lacking key; the oak box in good unrestored condition, old marks and scratches, the front of lid now with losses below escutcheon, front base molding with scratches at center,Available payment options
