Description:

Two Neoclassical Engravings , one titled 'Pute Ale Con le Danaidi a Bassoriliovo' at the bottom and numbered XXXVI upper right, 'F. Rastaini incise' lower right and 'Matteigni design' lower left (heavily foxed, toned), the other unmarked, in tones of blue, a group worshiping a statue (foxing, black spots in upper left corner and along top edge), both with Sotheby's lot label from 2005, both matted and in giltwood frames. Frame size of Pute Ale, 16 in. x 25 1/4 in.

Provenance: Sotheby’s Milan, December 20, 2005, lot 130, Furniture, Ceramics, Silver and Works of Art from the Collection of Prince Alessandro Ruspoli, from the summerhouse of Alvar González Palacios and from other important private properties.

Measurements: Height: by sight, Pute Ale, 13 1/4 in. x Width: 20 1/4 in.

Condition:

Fair condition, not viewed out of frames, see description. The frames in poor condition, the first with losses to gilt and wood along top of frame, the second lacking top slat and with wear and losses to remainder.
