Description:
Two Moro Spears and a Monkey Hair Scepter, Philippines, comprising a 94 in. Moro spear with bamboo shaft and metal spear tip, a 21 3/4 in. Moro spear tip incised with geometric motifs on base (lacking shaft), and a monkey hair scepter with metal and wood handle and a bell, with label reading 'Fries Family Curio - Brought back from the Philippines by Col. C. S. Fries, may date to his duty in Phil. Insur. (1902) or to later duty with U.S. Army 1906- on.' Length of scepter: 30 1/2 in.Measurements: Height: of full spear 94 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, metal spear tips with some pitting and oxidation, both tips slightly bent at points, handle on scepter with loss to end and the bell is loose.Notice to bidders: The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the conditions of aging.
