Description:

Timothy Harney (MA, b. 1955), 2 Works, Gouache and Watercolor on Paper, comprising a portrait of a man in red coat, pencil signed and dated '87' lower right and inscribed 'He was in my studio, 1987' on verso (Frame size: 22 in. x 18 in.; Paper size: 13 in. x 11 in.); and a portrait with two figures, titled 'Danny and his Imaginary Wife' on 'Clark Gallery' label on verso, signed and dated '88' lower right (Frame size: 21 3/4 in. x 18 1/4 in.; Paper size: 14 in. x 11 in.), both floating and matted in wood frames. Provenance: according to the consignor these were purchased at Clark Gallery.

Timothy Harney was born in Montserrat’s hometown of Beverly, MA in 1955. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he received his B.F.A. and M.F.A. In addition to Montserrat, he has taught painting and drawing at the DeCordova Museum School, the University of New Hampshire and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Tim has exhibited in Boston, Seattle, New York , La Jolla and Boca Raton. In 2001, Tim’s work was included in the landmark exhibition: Painting in Boston 1950-2000 at the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park. Lincoln, MA. Measurements: Height: of largest frame 22 in. x Width: 18 in.

Condition:

Good condition, both papers slightly wavy and with minor wear to edges, single portrait with pinholes in corners, wear to edges of frames, not viewed out of frames.
