Description:
Theodor de Bry (Flemish, 1528-1598) and Jacques Le Moyne de Morques (French, 1533-1588), The Rivers of French Florida, 1591, captioned 'Sex alia flumina a Gallis observata, plate IIII,' from 'Grand et Petit Voyages', Frankfurt, 1591, with Latin text, engraving on thin laid paper, pertaining to the settlement of Florida, with copy of pages from 'An Exhibition Commemorating the Settlement of Georgia, 1733-1948, The Library of Congress, February 14, 1948-May 12, 1948' on verso, matted and framed. Frame size: 16 1/4 in. x 13 1/4 in.Measurements: Height: by sight 13 3/8 in. x Width: 9 1/4 in.
Condition:
Overall fair condition, foxing and toning to paper, tear and restored loss right bottom edge, restored loss top right corner, minor creasing, pinhole at head of the 'F. Garumnian' river, wear and losses to edges of paper.
