Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle, 1890, U.S. Government rifle manufactured by the Springfield Armory, chambered in .45-70, with a trapdoor breach-loading mechanism and mussel rod, serial number stamped '484430', stamped 'U.S. Springfield 1873' on side, 'U.S. Model 1884' on trapdoor, stamped 'A' into wood under barrel and '2' into the top of the wooden stock. Barrel, 31 1/4 in.Measurements: Length: overall 51 3/4 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition for age, old marks and scratches to wood, wear and pitting metal, missing buffington sight, firing pin loose, missing one rivet on side and a screw on butt plate.
