Sergon was born in Manila, in the Philippines, in 1945. He grew up with diverse cultural influences around him, including Chinese, Japanese, and South East Asian. His path as an artist took off when he won first place in a national painting competition, following which he was accepted at the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts. He later went on to attend the Scudia Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy. Sergon has achieved international recognition for his work. He has represented the Philippines in international art shows in Australia and Spain. His paintings are in the collections of Mrs. Imelda R. Marcos, former First Lady of the Philippines, Uri Geller, and Gabe Kaplan, among others. (American Fine Art Gallery)
