Description:

Scottish Inlaid Mahogany Longcase Clock, Second Quarter 19th Century, with swans neck pediment and arched glazed door opening to a painted face depicting Scottish scenes and heroes: 'Wallace, Duncan, Burns, and Scott', the center with illegible makers name, seconds and dated dials, two-train four-pillar movement, the case with half round pilasters flanking a convex door, the base raised on bracket feet. Together with pendulum and weight, lacking crank.

Measurements: Height: 88 in. x Width: 22 in. x Depth: 10 1/4 in.

Condition:

Overall good condition, commensurate with age and use, the hood with replaced sound panels to sides, the case with age crack to veneer of trunk door and now with inpainting, lacking escutcheon, age crack and worm damage to left side of base, age cracks to panel, old marks and scratches, restorations and yellowing to varnish of clock face, with rubbing to signature, perishing to varnish.
