Rockwell Kent (NY, 1882-1971), Starry Night, 1933, Etching, pencil signed lower right, depicting a figure standing outside at night, lit by an open doorway, matted and framed, D.E. Abbott & Co stamp on verso. Frame size: 14 in. x 11 3/8 in.
Rockwell Kent was an early American Modernist. Kent studied architecture at Columbia University before a stint at the Art Students League. He worked as a painter, printmaker, illustrator and writer, and spent time sailing and exploring in nature. He achieved widespread recognition and admiration in his lifetime. Kent’s work can be found in his many published books, as well as in the collections of the National Gallery in Washington D.C., the Whitney Museum of American Art and many other public and private collections.

Overall good condition, toning, possible mat burn, mat toned and with some foxing, not viewed out of frame.
