Byrd's Expedition to the South Pole, 1928, comprising two letters from aviation expert Henry Woodhouse advising Byrd about upcoming South Pole expedition, dated October 1st and 2nd, 1928 on 'Henry Woodhouse, 280 Madison, Avenue New York' personal stationary, three letters from Byrd's brother Harry Flood Byrd to Byrd's wife Marie Byrd regarding a check, two dated May 1924 and one dated April 1924, all on 'The Evening Star, Harry Flood Byrd, publisher, Winchester, Virginia' stationary, and one check signed by R.E. Byrd to Harry Flood signed April 10, 1920 for $3,000, with notations in pencil on verso (3 3/8 in. x 8 1/2 in.).Measurements: Height: of pages 11 in. x Width: 8 1/2 in.
Condition:
Overall good vintage condition, toning to pages, wear to edges, small creases and tears to edges, letters from Harry Flood with horizontal and vertical fold creases, one Henry Woodhouse letter with three hole punches along one edge, light fading to type and signatures.
