Description:

Reginald Marsh (American, 1898-1954), Two Girls Walking to Right, 1943, printed 1969, engraving, reprinted 1969, numbered '53/100' lower left and embossed 'WM' lower right, also illegibly numbered in plate lower left, Edition: proof, posthumous print, 14 prints, Ed. 100, printed by Andersen-Lamb Photogravure Corporation, published by Whitney Museum of Art, matted and framed, old auction label on paper backing, frame size, 17 1/2 in. x 14 3/8 in.

Born on March 14, 1898, in Paris, France to American artist parents, Marsh went on to study at Yale University. Before his death in Dorset, VT, on July 3, 1954, Marsh had become an important figure in New York's artistic landscape, regularly exhibiting his work in tandem with his teaching position at the Art Students League of New York. His colorful murals can be found on important American buildings to this day, including the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House and the William Jefferson Clinton Federal Building. (Artnet)

Good condition, paper slightly wavy, mat with foxing.
