Raymond Charles Booth was a botanical artist lauded for his oil paintings of plants and animals. Booth studied at the Leeds College of Art and lived most of his life in Leeds. He exhibited widely in his lifetime, including at the Fine Art Society. He was reclusive, working entirely from a home studio where he cultivated many of the plant specimens he painted. His work can be found in the Shirley Sherwood Gallery at Kew; The Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge) and Leeds Art Gallery; The Ulster Museum (Belfast) and the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation (Pittsburgh) and in private collections.
