Dr. Preston Russell studied art and literature in university before going on to medical school. He practiced medicine in Savannah for 30 years, but eventually returned to painting. Dr. Russell was a physician, historian, published author, painter and miniaturist. His images of Savannah and the surrounding area have been exhibited in many galleries in the region. His paintings can be found in the permanent collection of the Morris Museum of Art as well as in many homes across the low country.

Measurements: Height: by sight 15 1/2 in. x Width: 19 1/2 in.

Condition:

Good condition, some small losses to paint in steps, light wear to frame.
