Myrtle Jones, Old City Market, Oil on Masonite, c. 1955, (Georgia, 1931-2005) signed lower left, illustrated in 'A Savannah Experience by Myrtle Jones' with explanation by Jones below 'Obviously Old City Market was painted in the early 1950's before that landmark was torn down. I usually liked to paint the market's north side because of the colorful vendors but this time I painted the south side from above by going up in a building at the corner of Congress and Barnard streets.' Frame size: 25 1/2 in. x 29 1/2 in.
