After graduating she took a break from creating art full time to teach art to middle school students, and to raise her daughter. Since 1998, Johnson has returned to her painting passion full-time. Johnson is known for her use of vibrant colors, negative space, strong design sense, and figure ground relationships. She now lives and works in Morehead City, North Carolina.
