Leonora Quarterman (Savannah, 1911-1979), Portrait of a Victorian House, Watercolor on Paper, signed lower right, depicting a large white Victorian house with surrounding landscape, matted and framed. Frame size: 27 1/4 in. x 32 in.

Leonora Quarterman was a painter, watercolorist and printmaker. Quarterman studied in Savannah and at the Sophie Newcombe Art School at Tulane University. She completed many watercolor scenes of her hometown Savannah, Georgia, as well as working as an illustrator for Fort Stewart and various publications. Quarterman's work was first exhibited at the Telfair Museum and later at the National Gallery, MOMA and the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as a solo exhibition at the Smithsonian in 1942. Her work was also featured in the 1971 Historic Charleston boardgame.
