Description:
Leonardo Nierman (Mexican, b. 1932), Birds Descending, Bronze, 1969, signed and numbered IV/VI on base, on a walnut pedestal. Size of pedestal: 37 in. x 9 in. x 9 in.
Provenance: Purchased from Art Collectors Gallery, Beverly Hills, CA., October 6, 1970, for $1,000.
Leonardo Nierman, a leader in modern Mexican art, was born in Mexico City in 1932. Nierman is known for his highly colorful abstract expressionist landscape painting, sculpture, and murals that are full of motion. He earned a Bachelor Degree from the University of Mexico in Mexico City in 1951. In 1972, he had a major exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City and from that time has had exhibitions of his work throughout the world including the United States, Italy, Israel, Australia, Spain and Japan.
Measurements: Height: 20 in. x Width: 11 5/8 in. x Depth: 10 in.

Good condition. Separation and losses to veneer at bottom of pedestal.
