Larry Connatser (GA/SC, 1938-1996), Piano Dwarf, Acrylic on Board, unsigned, titled on tag on verso, depicting a colorful abstract scene with figure and piano, in a pink wood frame.

Larry Connatser’s work was inspired by music, surrealism, and art history. The self taught artist completed over 2,500 paintings over the course of his career. Though he prefered to exhibit his work in personally staged private exhibitions, his paintings have been exhibited at a number of larger museums in Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. After his death the Telfair Museum of Art exhibited his retrospective, “Southern Melodies: A Larry Connatser Retrospecive.” His work can be found in a variety of public and private collections and his estate is held by the Morris Museum of Art.
