Leonora Quarterman was a painter, watercolorist and printmaker. Quarterman studied in Savannah and at the Sophie Newcombe Art School at Tulane University. She completed many watercolor scenes of her hometown Savannah, Georgia, as well as working as an illustrator for Fort Stewart and various publications. Quarterman's work was first exhibted at the Telfair Museum and later at the National Gallery, MOMA and the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as a solo exhibtion at the Smithsonian in 1942. Her work was also featured in the 1971 Historic Charleston boardgame.
