Description:
Joseph Orr (MO/Japan, b. 1949), Island Shadows, Oil on Canvas, signed lower right with 'Morris & Whiteside Galleries, Hilton Head, SC' label on verso, depicting a marsh landscape with trees, in a giltwood frame with linen mat. Frame size: 20 1/2 in. x 24 1/2 in.Joseph Orr was born in Japan in 1949. He was adopted in the spring of 1954 and became an American citizen at the age of 5. Orr's vivid paintings document the many different aspects of the American landscape. He is one of the founders of the national Oil and Acrylic Painter's Society and has contributed material to numerous artistic publications. Orr continues to paint and observe daily the landscape around him.
