John Lennon & Yoko Ono, War Is Over! Poster, originally issued 1969, probably early 1970's, offset print reading "WAR IS OVER! If you want it, Love and Peace from John and Yoko" in black block lettering, unused.The War Is Over peace campaign was conceived by John Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1969. The couple began the campaign on December 15th, distributing posters and flyers as well as creating radio and newspaper announcements and utilizing billboards to spread the message. The campaign was executed in 12 cities around the world to protest the Vietnam war and advertise their 'Happy Xmas (War Is Over)' single.
