Description:
John Geldersma (LA, b. 1942), Pair of Painted Wood Sculptures, 2003, signed and dated on backs, numbered 2 and 4, tall carved wood sculptures painted in shades of red and blue.John Geldersma is an American sculptor known for his wood carved totems. Geldersma studied at the University of Southwestern Louisiana before completing his MFA at Rutgers. Geldersma has participated in many group shows and solo exhibitions across the United States during his lengthy career. His work has been commissioned for public, private and corporate collections, including a recent commission for the United States Embassy in Papua, New Guinea.
