Description:
Japanese Lacquer Shaped Tray and a Chinese Box, comprising a red lacquered box with metal brackets, carved handle, and carved central panel that opens to an arrangement of 4 drawers, and a shaped black lacquer tray depicting a group of figures with flowers, butterfly's, and birds (stand not included). Size of box: 12 in. x 8 5/8 in. x 12 1/4 in.Measurements: Height: of tray 3 in. x Width: 30 3/4 in. x Depth: 20 3/4 in.
Condition:
Overall good condition, one hinge on box missing bolt, some age cracks to box, wear to lacquer surface on edges, and front panel door loose. The tray with some cracking and small chips to lacquer on edges, light wear to gilt and painted decoration.
