Jan Parker (English, b. 1941), Good Morning Tulips, Gouache, 1996, signed lower right and titled lower left, a still life of a vase with tulips, with dedication, 'Hawaii 1996' and signature on verso, matted and in a giltwood frame. Frame size: 39 in. x 29 1/2 in.
Jan Parker is known for his vibrant, impressionistic paintings. He began making art as a child growing up in the UK. He went on to study at the Willesden School of Art in London. Parker later moved to the United States, initially living in New York before settling in Hawaii. His work is held in museums and institutions in Asia, America and Europe and is collected by many (including filmmaker Stanley Kubrick). He has exhibited his work in Tokyo, Korea and China.
