Description:

Jack Leigh (Savannah, 1948-2004), Good and Evil, Silver Gelatin, 55/250, the mat signed and numbered 55/250 by Jack Leigh, the back signed by John Berendt, the author of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and a friend of the Duncan's, and dated April 21, 1996 with label from Southern Images Photography on verso. Frame size: 16 5/8 in. x 13 3/8 in.

Jack Leigh was a photographer and Savannah native best known for the photo of the Bird Girl statue on the cover of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. He won numerous awards for his photographs of the American South and published six books of photography. His widely exhibited work can now be found in multiple private and corporate collections, including the University of Georgia. The SCAD Museum of Art exhibited a retrospective of his work in 2014.

Condition:

Good condition, mat slightly wavy at top, dust to verso, light wear to frame.
