Description:
Hill & Adamson (Scotland, fl. 1840-1850), Young Boy in Scottish Kilt, Calotype, c. 1845, calotype by David Octavius Hill (Scottish, 1802–1870) and Robert Adamson (Scottish, 1821–1848) depicting a young boy in a Scottish kilt standing next to a helmet, with pen inscription 'a D. O. Hill photograph' on verso, mounted. Overall size: 8 1/2 in. x 5 7/8 in.Measurements: Height: of photo 8 1/4 in. x Width: 5 3/4 in.
Condition:
Overall good vintage condition, toning to paper, image faded, wear to edges, creases in corners, rubbing along bottom edge, particularly in lower left corner, small stain in center to left of helmet, photo possibly trimmed, photo fully mounted.
